Saltworks Digital is a Salt Lake City-based digital marketing agency serving clients in Utah and North America. We’re seeking a Senior Digital Copywriter to take our work to the next level.
Job Description
The Senior Digital Copywriter role at Saltworks must be able to think both strategically and creatively to develop SEO-optimized content that cuts through the clutter to resonate with the end consumer/customer. The person in this role should be prepared to take ownership of copy development for all types of digital content and any needed print content. Since we’re a small agency, this is a hands-on position and involves conceptualizing, writing, and editing innovative content with an eye toward continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Understand SEO goals for content and implement client SEO strategies when developing content
- Write compelling content for web pages, blog posts, news articles, product descriptions, white papers, and newsletters
- Write clear and error-free content that reflects the company’s voice
- Interview clients or other thought leaders to develop original, thought-provoking content
- Meet with clients to understand their message, brand voice, and target audience
- Propose copy concepts in an engaging way for clients and carry out projects once they are approved
- Interpret creative direction and technical information and transform them into persuasive copy concepts
- Collaborate with agency creative director and client to brainstorm and develop a variety of marketing materials
- Work with clients to edit and modify copy to meet their content expectations
- Adhere to brand and style guidelines (E.g., preferred taxonomy and terminology, writing style, use of the serial/Oxford comma)
- Proofread and edit written text for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and clarity
What You Will Need To Bring to The Table
- 5+ years of relevant experience writing exceptional digital content
- Ability to create sales-style copy for website landing pages and ads AND copy for longer form (1,200-3,000 word) articles/blog posts, white papers, and emails
- Experience in rewriting existing copy to optimize for SEO and in integrating the client’s SEO strategy into new text
- A talent for identifying photos, illustrations, and charts/infographics to enhance the user experience by prescribing these elements as interstitial content.
- A willingness to benchmark and monitor competitors’ (and industry leaders’) content to apply best practices, develop new ideas, and improve the overall media content strategy
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with people across the organization throughout the planning and development of content
- Highly organized and excellent attention to detail including mastery of spelling/grammar, punctuation, sentence structure
- A commitment to double-checking and triple-checking all work before being sent to the client, and working with others in the company to be the “second set of eyes” to help with these checks
- An ability to time block for deep work and switch gears to work on multiple projects and tasks each day when the need arises

Software You Must Know How to Use
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Basic project management software (experience with ClickUp is a bonus)
- Grammarly or equivalent
- Familiarity with SEMRush or other keyword research/competitor analysis tool
- Ability to leverage the best AI tools/prompts for research and brainstorming
Type of Position
Hybrid/remote position with 25-30% of the time at our Murray, UT office (or be available for frequent meetings via Zoom).
