The Challenge

Tile For Less is a Utah-based chain of tile stores that delivers one of a kind tile options as well as the expert advice do-it-yourselfer’s are looking for. They had a following of loyal customers and a string of five-star reviews, but they were facing stiff competition from big box home improvement stores as well as online tile retailers.

The great news is, Tile For Less has a compelling story to tell. Tile For Less shoppers get personalized customer service from staffers who really know tile — from design to installation. And unlike the big box stores, Tile For Less’s owners, Matt and Michele Bergman, are invested in the community they serve.

The Strategy

To fully assess the challenge, Saltworks conducted a full SEO Audit, including competitive analysis and keyword research. We were able to identify several opportunities that Tile For Less’s competitors were not taking full advantage of.

Saltworks developed a long term SEO strategy which served as the basis for an engaging new website. The SEO roadmap we developed informed all facets of the site’s categories, product titles, and descriptions — even navigation menu structure.

By leveraging Tile For Less’s local focus and the concept of “expert advice from the tile experts,” we helped position Tile For Less to rank for terms the big national chains simply couldn’t.
