Is Your Company Using Threads Yet?
We wanted to share some exciting news about the new social media platform Threads, which was introduced by Meta, the parent company of Instagram, last week.
Threads is a text-based conversation app that aims to offer an alternative to Twitter.
It’s easy to sign up, and you can use your current Instagram credentials. It will port over your username and followers, so you can bulk follow everyone that you’re already connected with on Instagram.
You can post text, video and photos just like Twitter, so if you’re looking for an alternative, or you’re interested in a new way to engage with potential customers, Threads could be a promising option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I really need to sign up for another social media account?
A: No, you don’t have to, but at Saltworks we see two advantages to having a social media presence for your business. First, if you have content on each of the platforms (including Threads), these platforms may show up in Google when someone searches for your business name. That’s a good thing, because you are in control of each of these platforms. Second, each social media platform is like its own search engine. People are searching things on TikTok, Instagram and now Threads, so you want to make sure you have a profile for your business.
Q: What content should I post on Threads?
A: We recommend filling out the basics of the profile– name, description and profile picture or logo. Also include a link to your website. If you don’t plan on posting regularly to Threads, make sure you have at least 6 posts, which could be a combination of photos and text. That way when someone sees your profile, there’s a good foundation of content there. However, to leverage Threads most effectively, we believe that companies will need to post valuable content at least 5-7 times per week, evert week.
